The SMBA were pleased to welcome local business and town representatives to their networking event hosted by the Cheese Larder and Real Ale Girls at the Cheese Larder on Friday 16th March. Victoria snd Natasha had matched local ales with local cheeses to provide a unique tasting experience. Both spoke with passion about the delights of their favoured expertise. As tasters we were encouraged to provide our own tasting notes.
The SMBA are keen to encourage local supply chains and we will build on this success with further opportunities to showcase local businesses and produce.
Calvert Trust have kindly offered to host a breakfast meeting at their site at Blackmoor Gate on Thursday 26th April at 8.00. The topic of this meeting is Social Responsibility. As breakfast will be provided we will need to know numbers in advance. Please email email@example.com if you would like to attend. This is a free event and many local businesses generously donated prizes to our Christmas draw in aid of Calvert Trust at Winter Wonderland. The trust does depend on public support and any contribution would be gratefully accepted!
The AGM of the SMBA is scheduled for May 10th with venue to be agreed. Due to the success of SMBA organised events we are in the happy position of offering free membership. We do, however, ask businesses to sponsor and support events as they feel fit throughout the year.
Please contact Michael Buckingham on firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any ideas for future meetings or burning topics you wish to have discussed.
Plans are underway to promote South Molton as a business and visitors centre at the North Devon Show. Hopefully it will not be rained off this year!
